Winemaker’s Notes
Bonarda: an Italian name for a French grape (Douce Noire) grown in Argentina and is not Malbec. Now that we have that sorted out, this wine is similar to Malbec in that it has an intense dark purple color, but from there, the similarities start to disappear. Nuanced notes of violets, all-spice, black cherry, plum, and tobacco are detected on the notes, while the palate offers generous fruit, medium body, and juicy acidity. The tannins are much lower than a Malbec, and much of that has to do with the lack of oak-aging, typical to Argentine Bonardas.
