Description
SERRES FAMILY MERLOT ESTATE “BUCHANAN”
The Buchanan is a powerful wine, richly structured, dense, and in its youth, gives you something to chew on. It’s a glass full of black cherries, blackberries, espresso, dark chocolate shavings, toasted almonds, sweet spices and vanilla, layered over chocolate and mocha ice cream. The wine is rich and complex but not sweet, just flavors of sweet fruit and cocoa. The palate is well structured and will want decanting when young, but expect it to evolve over a decade becoming more supple over time. Drink on its own, or with duck, lamb, beef or mushrooms, or if you are lucky enough to, or have friends who hunt and forage, roast wild boar and morels.
