This Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our best vineyard sites within Lake County and Sonoma County. The majority of the fruit comes from Lake County where volcanic, rocky soils and dramatic mountainside vineyards provide intense wines of structure and concentration. The remainder is from Sonoma County with a small portion from Santa Barbara County. The result is a synergy of intense favors and distinction.
After a three-day cold soak, the grapes were crushed and fermented at relatively warm temperatures in stainless steel tanks. After pressing, each lot was blended or egg-white fined depending on flavor, color and tannin concentration. The wine was aged in 100% oak barrels: French, Hungarian and American. Small portions of Merlot, Syrah, and Petite Sirah, were added for balance, aromatics and flavor.
Our 2019 North Coast Cabernet Sauvignon is a showstopper of a wine. A lively dark red color in the glass, it opens with aromas of cherry and dark berries with notes of cocoa and cedar spice. The palate is medium bodied and filled with bright, juicy flavors of blackberry, plum, currant and toasty oak. Soft, chocolatey tannins intermingle with a hint of dried herbs on the persistent finish. Pair with your favorite grilled meats.
