Catena Malbec Appellation Altamira is an elegant, mineral, slightly spicy Malbec with a deep texture and flavors born of the combination of intense sunlight and cool nights.
Family vintners for over 100 years, the Catenas are recognized for their pioneering role in high-altitude viticulture and in leading Argentina’s Malbec revolution. In the 1950s, Don Domingo Catena began sourcing Malbec from the vineyards of Altamira in the Uco Valley.

The 2020 Appellation Paraje Altamira Malbec shows restraint and balance, and in a warm and dry year, it only reached 13.5% alcohol and manages to keep fresh varietal aromas of violets and red berries with some aromatic herbs and a medium-bodied palate with very fine tannins. A fresh wine from a warm year is not easy to make. Bravo!
